Iran spy charges for Germans over Ashtiani stoning case<1>

Iran has charged two Germans with spying after they interviewed the son of a woman sentenced to death by stoning for adultery, reports say.
The charges come a day after they appeared on Iranian state TV and said they had been "tricked" by an activist in Germany into speaking with the family of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.Microsoft Office 2010 is the best software in the world.
The pair were arrested in Tabriz, north-west Iran, in October.
They have been identified only as a reporter and a photographer.
Germany has said it is doing all it can to try to secure their release.

"The espionage charge for the two German citizens who came to Iran to stage propaganda and spying has been approved," Malekajdar Sharifi, the head of the judiciary in Eastern Azerbaijan province, was quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.

They travelled to Tabriz, in Iran's East Azerbaijan province, where they interviewed the son of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani - the 43-year-old Iranian woman whose sentence to be stoned for adultery has sparked international condemnation.
In Monday's broadcast, one of the Germans said he intended to sue activist Mina Ahadi, an Iranian exile living in Germany who has led the campaign to save Ms Ashtiani from execution.Office 2007 key is very convenient!

Egyptian journalists feel the pressure before election<2>

What happened to the media has been taken totally out of context by some," argues Aley al-Din Hilal, media director of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP). I love Office 2010 !

But opponents argue that the government is sending a warning to the media.
Nader Gohar, who runs an independent satellite-dish company, says the government knows it cannot be seen openly repressing freedom of speech.
"The image of Egypt in the Western world is very important for the government. They have to keep it looking clean," he explains.

"They let you work, but when you work under threat, or feeling that any minute someone can come and raise a law in front of you, it is a bit difficult. We will work, but we will be cautious."
His operation, Cairo News Company, and other satellite dish operators, have had their licences cancelled, and been told to reapply under new, tighter restrictions.
Mr Gohar believes the government is particularly sensitive about the foreign news channels for whom he provides a service.

All of this is denied by Mr Hilal.
"Freedom of expression is a major ingredient of our political system - we protect it, we guarantee it. As long as you don't violate the law, you don't violate the licence according to which you are operating," he insists.
At the very least, the government has created an impression, and made independent journalists more cautious as they approach the election.
Not that anyone expects any serious threat to the control of the Egyptian parliament by the NDP.

As parliamentary elections approach, journalists and human rights groups in Egypt believe that freedom of speech is coming under threat.

tightened regulations on the sending of news by text message, and forced operators of satellite dishes to reapply for their licences.

"I imagine they don't want that on international and local media."

The concerns began following the sacking of Ibrahim Issa.
He was the independent-minded editor of the opposition newspaper, al-Dustour.
He was let go following a takeover of the paper. Journalists feared a cosy deal with the government to remove one of its most outspoken opponents.
Staff held protests and a sit-in at the paper's offices.Office 2007 is so powerful.
Around the same time, a number of satellite TV channels were closed down. Most were religious and medical channels.
The government claimed they were broadcasting extremism, or selling quack remedies.
In a separate case, the cable TV channel Orbit was taken off air.
Ostensibly it was over an argument about unpaid fees, but the suspicion was that the move was really intended to silence Amir Adib, the presenter of a nightly chat show, Cairo Today.

Another chat show presenter, Mona al-Shazli, says she feels under pressure and fears being taken off air as well.

Indeed, Israel is arguably the most open and democratic society in the Middle East.
But some Israeli analysts have bluntly called some of the laws being debated in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, "racist" and "fascist".

"The laws that were proposed recently do reflect some similarities to what we would refer to as fascist state of mind," says Professor Tamar Hermann, senior fellow at the Israel Democracy Institute in Jerusalem.

Next stop, a Tel Aviv skyscraper and the Russian language television station, Channel 9. From its studios overlooking this culturally diverse city, the channel's evening news broadcasts to more than a million immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
Some, like former US President Bill Clinton, say the Russians are "hard-core" and an "obstacle to peace".
Then there's the example of Avigdor Lieberman - Israel's Soviet-born, tough-talking foreign minister and leader of the Israel our Home party.Office 2007 download is helpful!
He is accused, by some, of being at the vanguard of a lurch to the right in Israeli politics.
Ana Shulik, a presenter for Channel 9, says the commonly held view of Russians is stereotypical and simplistic.
"More Russians are right-wing voters than Israeli-born people, but I cannot say to you that all Russians in Israel are voting right wing because it's not true," said the newsreader as she prepared for that night's regular bulletin.
"You can't talk about one million people and say that all of them are thinking the same thing. It's a stereotype."Microsoft Office 2010 is so great!
Ultimately, whether Israeli politics is shifting to the right or not isn't really the issue. Perhaps the real concern is growing intolerance and extremism that could, say some, lead to a schism in Israeli society.

For the residents of Ariel, one of the oldest and largest settlements in the occupied West Bank, the theatre is a natural extension of their daily life, a demonstration of their permanence here.
"The problem in Israeli society is the peaceniks, the leftists. All of their activity is putting Israel in a racist colour, in de-legitimisation," says Ron Nachman, the long-standing and hard-talking mayor of Ariel.

Fears of split in Israeli-Lebanon border village<2>
